Digital Break in Painting

Digital Break in Painting

Painting serves as an escape for me from the digital world. As I write this, I can trace the journey of this series of paintings, which began months ago. Back then, I had not ventured into the digital realm of Graphic Design. As I have a Backlers in Graphic Design I stick to the tangable books. Instead, I chose to remain grounded in my foundational knowledge and avoid external influences. I gathered all my books, inspirations, my newly purchased magazine, and anything tangible that resonated with me. I immersed myself in the world of publications, fashion, history, authentic art, vision, and my current emotions. Each of these elements was framed and incorporated into my work in progress.

At a certain point, I envisioned having windows to the outside world painted on my walls. I drew inspiration from a book of mine that featured framed drawings. Here are three of the paintings that have evolved from this initial concept:

  1. Fashion Today: This painting draws inspiration from Anna Winthrof’s fashion magazine and the reflection of my thoughts on contemporary fashion.

2. Logo as a 3D Art Piece: As I was building my website, I had an idea to present my logo as a three-dimensional piece of art. This concept emerged from my observations of how the 3D world has transformed art, particularly with the advent of AI. I was deeply moved by a movie about Maria Callas, which featured numerous head busts. This experience led me to reflect on my past work with clay and the birth of “Greek,” a painting that originated from the original artwork.

3. Journal and Rising Woman: I purchased a journal with a wood sketch of a woman on its cover and the word “One.” I saw a woman rising above a landscape, which resonated with me on a personal level. I connected this image to my own energy or aura and the emotions I was experiencing at the time. My initial thought was to create a long painting that depicted an army of color or aura, representing frequency, chakra structure, and my constant engagement with my passions, feelings, and goals. The love for color would guide me in understanding the world around me.

Working backwards, I traced the thought process that led me to this series of paintings. They evolved from the initial concept of framed windows to the current three paintings, which are arranged from right to left. I have also added two additional panels on each side, each containing my original quick vision of what I imagined the final artwork to be. (I will reveal the contents of these panels in my next post.) Unfinished conveys a lot about my current state. As I write this, I’ve realized how easily I get engrossed in my Graphic Design work, particularly in the artwork. However, I’ve also come to understand the importance of managing the finer details of the rest of the work, such as dates, times, and completing the project.
